SOCKET PRESERVATION

It’s a natural phenomenon that bone gets resorbed when the teeth are extracted. Studies have shown that at least 15 to 20 % of the bone loss happens in the very first year of extraction. In case we are doing a delayed placement of implants (after a healing time of 6-12 months after extraction), it’s a common finding to encounter less than original bone. To avoid /minimise this issue, we can do the Socket reservation therapy with bone grafting to allow maximum available bone after the due healing time. It helps to provide more bone contact for dental implants to be placed in the near future.
